KOLKATA: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday met with master poll strategist Prashant Kishor, whose latest success is Project Jagan Mohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh.Kishor came along with TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee to Nabanna in the afternoon and held a meeting with Mamata Banerjee for one hour and forty minutes, after which the Bengal CM signed up for Kishor’s “election-winning package”. According to Trinamool Congress sources, Mamata and Kishor deliberated over the causes of Trinamool Congress’ poll set back in the Lok Sabha. Kishor explained his readings seat by seat for West Bengal. The Chief Minister is hoping to reclaim lost ground after the BJP made inroads in the parliamentary election. The BJP, which increased its tally to 18 seats, is pulling out all stops to challenge the Mamata-led Trinamool in the 2021 assembly elections. Prashant Kishor struck gold with the successful campaigns of Narendra Modi in 2014 and Nitish Kumar in 2015. The only blip on his radar was his failure to resurrect the Congress in Uttar Pradesh in 2017.
