He played his first ODI vs Sri Lanka in Dharamsala on Sunday as replacement for Virat Kohli, who tied the knot with Anushka Sharma in Italy.The Mumbai-born Iyer has been a heavy-scorer in Indian domestic cricket and has enjoyed two prolific seasons with the Delhi Daredevils.
