Irish Water shut down drilling operations in Lough Foyle following protests

first_imgDrilling operations on Lough Foyle have been suspended indefinitely by Irish Water following ongoing pressure on the Irish Utility. A drilling pontoon had been constructed at Carrickarory Pier in Movllle in recent weeks, however, that plan has since been abandoned and the construction has since been dismantled.This rig was to carry out a geophysical investigation in anticipation of a sewage discharge pipe being installed in the centre of the fishery.
